Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan believes that the Habib Bank Limited (HBL) Pakistan Super League (PSL) is the best T20 league in the world.

While talking to Cricket Pakistan in an exclusive interview, Shadab said the quality of bowling sets PSL apart from other T20 leagues

“I have played in many leagues around the world but standard wise I think PSL is the best especially because every team has bowlers who can bowl in excess of 140 kph, which is something that you don’t see in other leagues of the world,” said Shadab.

The 21-year-old leg-spinner became the youngest captain in PSL’s history after being asked to shoulder the leadership responsibility by the franchise.

“It’s an honour for me to captain the two-time champions of PSL. I gained enough experience about captaincy during the last edition as well so I don’t feel the pressure of leadership,” he said.

The Mianwali-born was also excited about playing alongside South Africa pacer Dale Steyn, ahead of the upcoming season.

“We are excited about having Dale Steyn in the squad. He is a legendary cricketer and our players like Faheem Ashraf, Akif Javed and Musa Khan will learn a lot from his experience,” he said.

Speaking about the tournament’s best teams, Shadab said: “I think every team has some good players but in my personal opinion I think Quetta Galdiators and Peshawar Zalmi are the strongest teams on paper.”

All 34 matches of PSL5 are set to be played across four international venues of the country, Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi, from February 20 to March 22.
