Former Pakistan pacer, Muhammad Amir has opened up about the possibility of making a comeback in the national side.

During a media interaction, Amir, the former Pakistani cricketer, made a statement affirming his retirement and expressing his belief that it is now time for the younger generation to seize opportunities in the sport.

"I have retired now, how am I hopeful for my return? If I hadn't retired, I could have said that I am very hopeful, but now I have retired. Now I have grown old, and there are youngsters in the team," Amir said.

Amir's retirement in 2020 came as a surprise to many cricket fans around the world. At the age of 28, he chose to leave the game that had brought him both fame and controversy.

In that same year, he openly criticized the then Pakistan team management, specifically the head coach Misbah-ul-Haq and bowling coach Waqar Younis, holding them responsible for the circumstances that led to his decision.

Amir expressed his discontentment with the team management, stating that their actions had "spoiled" his image.
