Former Pakistan Academies Director and all-rounder Mudassar Nazar has demanded resignation from Chief Selector Mohammad Wasim over the "unfair treatment" of Azam Khan.

Azam was dropped from Pakistan’s T20 World Cup squad with former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed taking his place.

Speaking to Express News, Nazar said that Azam Khan has been let down by the selection committee.

"Azam Khan was made fun of for his selection. After that, the selection committee has decided to drop him and ruin his confidence. This is unfair treatment," said Nazar.

Nazar further stated that "if the selection committee has made a U-turn on their decision then this means their initial selection was wrong".

"There is no doubt that Pakistan's team has strengthened following the changes but that does not mean Azam Khan deserved this treatment. I think Shahnawaz Dahani should have also been included," Nazar added.

Earlier on Friday evening, PCB announced three changes to the T20 World Cup squad which saw Sarfaraz, Haider Ali, and Fakhar Zaman included in the team.

Pakistan cricket team will fly to the United Arab Emirates for the T20 World Cup on October 15.
