"Nepotism and favoritism", Usman Qadir's wife posts cryptic tweet

In the wake of Usman Qadir's retirement from international cricket, his wife, Sobiya Usman, took to social media to express her emotional turmoil.

In a poignant message shared on the platform X, Sobiya referred to the day as a "dark day" for her as a Pakistani, highlighting her frustrations with nepotism and favoritism in various fields, including sports.

"Today feels like a black day for me as a Pakistani. Nepotism and favoritism plague every field, holding us back from true success. We can't move forward until we support those who genuinely deserve it. Let's strive for merit and real progress!" Usman Khan's wife posted.

Usman Qadir, the 31-year-old leg-spinner and son of the late cricket legend Abdul Qadir, announced his retirement on Thursday. He cited ongoing difficulties in obtaining the necessary No Objection Certificate (NOC) and expressed disappointment over the Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) international department's handling of his situation as the primary reasons for his decision.

During his career, the leg-spinner represented Pakistan in 25 T20 International matches and one ODI. According to sources, he felt compelled to retire after facing persistent challenges with NOC matters, which had caused him considerable frustration.
