Legendary batsman backs 32-year-old to cement his place in national team
Pakistan legend Younus Khan has given his support to estranged batsmen Fawad Alam by claiming that the England-Ireland series would have been the perfect opportunity to give Alam a chance to feature for the national side.
Younus, who was speaking at a seminar organised by the National Highway and Motorway Police for road safety, said: “This is the best time to give Fawad Alam a chance to feature for the national side. Before when senior players were in the side then it was understandable that he could not make the cut, but now there are a lot of youngsters in the team and he could have been given a chance to play for Pakistan.”
Younus has represented Pakistan in 118 Tests, 265 ODIs and 25 T20Is scoring 10,099, 7,249 and 442 runs respectively.
He also captained Pakistan to victory in the 2009 World T20.
