On day four of their five-day visit, the British royal couple Prince William and Kate Middleton arrived in Lahore for a day-long visit to the cultural capital of Pakistan.

Upon arrival, the British royalty was received by Governor Punjab Chaudhry Sarwar and Chief Minister Usman Buzdar. They were also presented with souvenirs.

The next stop on their itinerary was the National Cricket Academy (NCA) where the royal couple was welcomed by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chief Executive Wasim Khan, Chairman Ehsan Mani and several cricketers including Azhar Ali, Sana Mir, Hasan Ali, Shaheen Afridi and Waqar Younis.

The Duke and Duchess were given a tour of the academy – where they saw the 1992 World Cup trophy won by Pakistan under the captaincy of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Mani, in his speech said: “Your Royal Highnesses, on behalf of all the young girls and boys, and the Pakistan Cricket Board, I would like to thank you for joining us here at the National Cricket Academy today. This is a very special day for the children who have got the opportunity to meet and play with you. This is something they will never forget. I thank you for this wonderful gesture."

They also played cricket with Pakistani cricketers and other young children.
