Shadab's outstanding display propels Sussex to victory against Glamorgan

Shadab Khan delivered a spectacular match-winning performance, leading Sussex to a thrilling 20-run win over Glamorgan at Sophia Gardens on Friday.

Shadab played exceptionally well during a challenging phase when his team was struggling after losing four wickets for just 44 runs inside the powerplay.

The  24-year-old delivered a scintillating unbeaten knock of 87* runs off just 53 deliveries. His innings comprised of five boundaries and five towering sixes, resulting in a remarkable strike-rate of 164.15.

Shadab scored his second half-century in the ongoing Vitality Blast 2023, and due to his valuable contribution, Sussex managed to post a commendable total of 182 runs while losing six wickets in the first innings.

In the second innings, Glamorgan encountered a challenging start as they lost their opening wicket on the very first delivery.

With a notable contribution, having ended with the figures of 1/26 runs in the allotted four overs, the leg-spinner played a vital role in restricting the opposition side to just 162 runs after losing eight wickets.

Sussex all-rounder, shared his thoughts on Twitter, expressed his delight about his outstanding performance that played a pivotal role in leading his team to a resounding victory.
