Lahore Qalandars skipper, Shaheen Afridi, blames 'Qurat ka Nizam' for their defeat against Multan Sultans in the first playoff match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

Shaheen also stated that early wickets put pressure on lower-middle order batters, and he realizes the value of a run-out and a good catch that can quickly change the game's complexion.

The skipper of the Qalandars wants to assess where they went wrong before the Eliminator two on Friday.

"We lost wickets quickly, and we will look into what went wrong and prepare for the next game as we still have a chance. When the main batters get out early, there is pressure on the lower-order batters," he said.

A good catch or run-out can win you a game; we will work on that. It is Qudrat ka Nizam, the wind started to blow, and Cottrell got the ball to swing. This is Qudrat ka Nizam," added Shaheen Afridi in the post-match chat.

Shaheen Afridi had a tough day on the field as he remained wicketless in his spell and conceded 47 runs in the crucial Qualifier against Multan Sultans.

On the other hand, Multan Sultans posted a challenging total of 160/5 against a formidable Lahore Qalandars bowling line-up. The score looked competitive but not unbeatable.

However, the Qalandars had an epic batting collapse and were bundled out for just 76, which is the lowest-ever total in PSL 8 and the third-lowest total in the tournament's history.

They previously made 59 versus Peshawar Zalmi in 2017 and folded on 73 against Multan in 2021.
