Starc refuses to confirm whether he will be part of Australia's tour to Pakistan

Aussie pacer Mitchell Starc has refused to confirm whether he will be part of Australia's squad for the tour of Pakistan in March/April.

According to details, Cricket Australia (CA) and Australian Cricketers Association (ACA) briefed the players about their reconnaissance visit to Pakistan last month.

The ACA is not expecting every player to travel to Pakistan, even if security approvals are ticked off.

Meanwhile, Starc was asked about Pakistan tour ahead of the fifth Ashes Test and the 31-year-old was non-committal when asked if he would make himself available for Australia’s first tour of the country since 1998.

“We had a bit of a briefing the other day about the upcoming tour,” Starc said as quoted by The Sydney Morning Herald.

“I think it gives time for all players to process that information. Obviously, we’ve got a Test match this week to play in and perform in, and then we’ll move onto what happens next," he added.

ACA CEO on Monday also vowed to travel to Pakistan alongside the Australian cricketers to convince players who might be on the edge regarding the tour.

He also understood that some players might still be uncomfortable with touring Pakistan and their decision needs to be respected.

It must be noted that Australia are scheduled to tour Pakistan for three Tests, three ODIs and a T20I.
