Usama Mir made an incredible return to Worcestershire as he shone with the ball against the Birmingham Bears in Vitality Blast on Friday.
The leg-spinner picked up impressive figures of 3/22 in his four overs, with an economy rate of just 5.5. It was an excellent performance that played a crucial role in his team's victory. Mir's first breakthrough came when he dismissed Rob Yates for 27 runs. After that he grabbed the wicket of Glenn Maxwell who scored only 9 runs. Then he bagged the wicket of Ed Barnard for just 5 runs.
No doubt about that one! 🤩

Mir's contribution was further highlighted by the struggles of the other bowlers on the Worcestershire side. Collectively, they managed only one wicket while conceding a whopping 172 runs in their 16 overs, with an economy rate of 10.8. The stark contrast in their performances only served to accentuate Mir's brilliance.
The decision to re-sign Usama Mir for the remaining T20 Blast games proved to be a masterstroke for Worcestershire. After a brief absence, Mir returned with renewed and skillful variations.
The 27-year-old claimed key wickets, disrupting the flow of the Birmingham Bears and putting his team in a dominant position. His economical bowling ensured that the opposition batsmen found it difficult to score freely.
Previously, Usama assumed the Rapids' other overseas player position previously held by Michael Bracewell, who unfortunately suffered an Achilles injury and will be sidelined for six to eight months.
