Seasoned batter, Usman Khan has expressed his joy to be part of the national cricket team's fitness camp ahead of the T20 series against New Zealand

Having made waves in the recent Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9, Usman's exceptional performance saw him score two centuries, having an unmatched average of 107 runs per innings. His contributions played a pivotal role in guiding Multan Sultans to the final of PSL 9.

Speaking to a local news channel, Usman emphasized his eligibility to play for Pakistan, despite residing in the UAE for cricketing purposes. He expressed his fervent desire to don the green jersey and show his talent on the international stage.

“I am still holding my Pakistani passport and am eligible to play for the country where I started my cricketing career. I have settled in the UAE only for cricketing purposes. It would be nothing less than a dream come true if I go on to represent Pakistan at international stage in days to come,” Usman said.

Furthermore, Usman underscored his determination to make the most of every opportunity on the field.

“Obviously playing international cricket for the country where you reside is what you aim at. I am delighted to see my name in the fitness training camp. Hopefully, the way I batted in the PSL 9 where I scored 430 runs in just seven innings with three unbeaten knocks, I would continue to do that for my country if given the chance,” he said.

“Whenever and wherever I play, I try to make the best of the given opportunity. It will be a great honour for me to represent my country at any stage," he further added.

Usman highlighted his adaptability to various roles in cricket, expressing his willingness to contribute as a wicket-keeper and a hard-hitting batsman for the national team.

"I like keeping wickets apart from batting. I kept wickets for Multan Sultans with utmost success and could well do that even for my country if given the opportunity,” Usman said.

Lastly, Usman's adaptability extends to his batting order preferences, as he asserted his readiness to bat at any position according to the team's requirements.

"I can bat at any order as I usually believe in taking the game head on. I always try to make maximum use of my stay at the wicket,” he concluded.
