The two-day practice match between Sarfaraz XI and Azhar XI ended in a draw, at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

Sarfaraz XI rolled over Azhar XI for a paltry 208 after scoring 355 for 7 on day-two of the practice match between the two sides. Batsmen Abid Ali and Sarfaraz Ahmed remained unbeaten at the end of play as Sarfaraz XI made 60 for no loss in their second innings.

Leg-spinner Yasir Shah led the charge taking three wickets while giving away 50 runs. Bowlers Mohammad Irfan and Umer Khan provided regular breakthroughs taking two wickets apiece.

Fast-bowlers Hasan Ali and Rahat Ali chipped in with one wicket each.

Skipper Azhar Ali and all-rounder Bilal Asif provided the only substantial partnership for Azhar XI scoring 59 and 57 respectively.

Batsmen Mohammad Rizwan, Shan Masood, Asif Ali and Asad Shafiq made starts but did not convert their scores into a substantial contribution.

Sarfaraz XI scored 60 runs and did not lose a wicket till the end of play. Batsmen Abid Ali and Sarfaraz Ahmed remained unbeaten at stumps scoring 25 and 28 respectively.

Earlier, Skipper of Sarfaraz XI and wicketkeeper-batsman Sarfaraz Ahmed won the toss, against Test cricketer Azhar Ali-led unit, and elected to bat first on a flat track. Iftikhar Ahmed scored a fast-paced 104 of 133 balls which included 17 boundaries.

Imam provided solid support scoring 100 off 147 balls. Imam then retired, which paved the way for batsman Haris Sohail to score 69 off 122 balls. Sohail was then retired out to give the other batsmen an opportunity to feature in the two-day match.

Off-spinner Bilal Asif was the stand-out bowler for Azhar XI as he finished day-one with two wickets and gave away 57 runs. Left-arm spinner Zafar Gohar was also effective, picking up two wickets for 94 runs. Pacers Mir Hamza and Mohammad Zahid picked up one wicket each.
