The fear of conflict has come to light after Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced that the inaugural women's league will take place alongside season eight of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

The franchises are seeking support from the board in other expenses, including TV production while PCB has started trying to convince some PSL team owners to buy teams in the women's league.

PCB announced details of the inaugural women's league, where four city-based sides, each comprising 12 local and six foreign players, will compete.

As per sources, PSL franchises were informed an hour before the announcement. Team representatives also discussed this in the operations meeting over the past few days. They raised a question: Will PCB contribute to the cost of TV production when there are women's league matches with the PSL?

Similarly, will there be any contribution to other expenses? According to them, it is not right to transfer the entire burden to the PSL teams.

Since the PCB was represented in the meeting by non-authorized officials, they limited themselves to raising the matter before the higher authorities, at one point, a franchise official had an argument with the board employee.

Sources said that the PCB is trying to push some PSL franchises to buy teams in the women's league as well.

Offers were also made to those with whom relations are at a good level, However, no decision has been taken in this regard yet.

On the other hand, PCB is trying somehow to sell Pakistan Junior League (PJL) rights and bring back some money, otherwise the expenses of PKR 80 crores to one billion may cause problems later.

The tender was also issued a few days ago when the matters were almost finalized with one party.
