Former Australia cricketer Dean Jones has said that a ‘big news’ will be revealed later in the week, leading to speculations about his possible appointment as Pakistan’s new head coach.

According to details, Jones posted a message on his Twitter account, to keep his followers guessing about the big reveal.

"Big news to be announced by the end of the week," tweeted Jones.

The 58-year-old had, earlier, applied for the vacant head coach post of the Men in Green.

In October 2017, Dean Jones was appointed interim head coach of the Afghanistan cricket team for their Intercontinental Cup fixture in Hong Kong.

Jones is the current head coach of the Habib Bank Limited (HBL) Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Islamabad United and has won two titles with them.

However, former Pakistan skipper Misbahul Haq is being considered one of the top contenders for the job, after he resigned from the PCB Cricket Committee and formally applied for the post.
