Franchise owners are expected to present a list of grievances to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ehsan Mani, after the postponement of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season six, in a meeting today through video link.

The franchise owners are expected to ask for the return of their submitted fees in case the tournament cannot be carried out in the future.

The owners are especially upset with the approach taken by the PCB’s CEO Wasim Khan, who appeared on the backfoot during the meetings while sharing the responsibility of the overall mismanagement of the tournament with a wide range of shareholders during the press conference afterward.

On the other hand, the PCB has formed a two-person fact-finding committee panel that has been tasked with investigating the breaches in the SOPs that led to the postponement of the HBL PSL six. The board however did not take franchises into consideration while making the move. The owners are unhappy after being left out of the discussion that led to the creation of the fact-finding panel.

The franchise owners are also deeply concerned about financial losses. Despite featuring in just four or five matches, most foreign players have been paid 70 per cent of their total amounts. It is not yet clear if a certain amount will be retrieved from players who are not willing to come back if the tournament is continued in the future.
