All-rounder, Shadab Khan, is determined to make a comeback to Test cricket during Pakistan’s upcoming Australia tour scheduled later this year.

Shadab acknowledged that transitioning from white-ball cricket to the red-ball format requires time and a solid foundation in first-class matches.

The leg-spinner, known for his prowess in limited-overs cricket, expressed his eagerness to prove himself in the game's traditional format.

"When I played five back-to-back Test matches, I thought I was getting myself into the rhythm of Test cricket. I was a natural at white ball, but becoming a red-ball player takes time, and I hadn't even played that many first-class games. When I thought I was slowly getting into my groove as a red-ball cricketer, I got dropped and then got hampered by injuries," Shadab told CricBuzz.

"But I do want to play Test cricket and am ready to play first-class cricket to stake a claim. I'll be eyeing the Test series in Australia after the World Cup to make a comeback in the Test side," he added.

It is worth noting that the 24-year-old cricketer has played six Test matches, claiming a total of 14 wickets. His most recent appearance in the longest-format game was against England at Manchester in 2020.

Pakistan will make a trip Down Under later in the year to take on Australia for the Benaud-Qadir Trophy. The three Tests – part of the third World Test Championship cycle – will be played at Perth, Melbourne, and Sydney in December and January.
